Many may think that assigning personality types to individuals is stereotypical. However, since we are all unique, this is necessary, first, to serve as a starting point to figure out and understand individual preferences and predispositions where style is concerned. Also, because, style is not stagnant, and keeps evolving with different life changes and events. An even better reason is the fact that you have the power to influence and take your style to where you desire it to be. It’s absolutely necessary to have a good understanding of your personality to be able to do this. A style quiz is, therefore, a good place to start. After all, according to Coco Chanel, “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself”.
My quiz results identify 6 distinct style personas; The Natural-Comfort, The Whimsical – Boho Chic, The Siren, The Trendy – Chic, The Conventional and The Feminine. Although you may have attributes of more than one type, you will have one persona that is dominant or is your major type. Your dominant persona represents the way you present yourself to the world on a daily basis. While the other minor types, where you have some matching attributes represent your supporting persona, which is the way you respond and adapt your major personality to suit varying situations. You will have better success when you combine the aspects that resonate with you most in your supporting personas (where applicable), with your dominant persona to form your individual style persona.
None of these personalities are necessarily good or bad, or even better than the other, each has its pros and predisposition to flaws if not properly managed. There isn’t just one definition of beauty. The key is to understanding your persona and the reasons why you relate to style the way you do and embrace yourself with a view to becoming the best version of YOU!
Our personalities are as different as our style is having one type will make for a really boring world, so we need the variety to spice things up and maintain balance.
